My washcloths are bigger then the square ones you usually see. Mine are 8

1/2 by 10 inches. I knit them then put a crocheted border around them. I

charge $3.75 each and $14. for a pack of 4. I sell them in the baskets and I

will

wrap one with a bar of soap with ribbon around it. I sell these to soapers 12

for $25. There is a picture on my web site of the washcloths. Oh and I use

100% cotton.

I have designed a heart shaped one for Valentine Baskets this year. It takes

me about 1 hour to knit them whole watching TV and my mother knits them too.

How long does it take on the kniting machine? I was thinking of getting in

the future.

I can do about that size in stockinette in about 15 minutes but the whole

crochet thing escapes me. So, mine all have a yucky curled edge which I need to

overcome. Here's a good place for info on machine knitting.

Wow, you knit fast! What size needles do you use for this? It's take me 5

minutes just to cast on! I crochet them, about 8 x 8 because that's the size

I prefer, and they take me about 45 minutes each, and I don't have to think

about it. I've knit half a dozen sweaters, a couple of throws, and some

socks but it takes me too long to knit the washcloths. I can't watch tv

with empty hands, either. At a decent show, they can sell for 3 bucks each

or 2 for 5 -sometimes they go like crazy and sometimes they just sit there

and nobody wants them. I wouldn't consider them a money maker in themselves,

but if you're subject to the knit/crochet compulsion, you might as well make

a few.

What knitting machine do you have? I am thinking of getting one in the
