Guest guest
Hi CAS, Well, I do know that 30g =1oz (approx.). I almost always deal in weights...but you could just use the above formula and convert it to liquid measurement. so... 100g = (almost) 1/2c. so... I'd prolly do it this way 1/2c coconut oil 1/2c sweet almond oil 1/2c beeswax (grated or the pastilles) 1tsp lavender essential oil since 1/2 c is slightly more than 100g I think the 1 tsp of lavender eo would be a safe amount. I would mix the oils and wax and melt them. Then take a little out on a metal spoon and put it in your freezer for about 3 - 5 min. and then test it and see if it's a good texture...if its too soft add more beeswax...if its too hard add more oil...but just a touch at a time. Also write down how much you change the recipe so you can make the same thing again in the future, without all the testing. After you get the texture the way you want it...then add the eo. HTH Nora Subject: Re:Lotion Bars Hello to all, I would like to try making Lotion Bars. I wonder if they are like soaps with different ingredients? I would love to have some info and recipes if you all would be so kind. Thank you so much, CAS
Guest guest
I doubt if the weather has any bearing on the softness of this recipe. The ratio for lotion bars would be 1:1:1: oil, butter, wax or 1 oz oil, 1 oz cocoa butter, 1 oz beeswax hth Sherry Sherry's Creations Natural Care Books, booklets and spreadsheets www.herbalsoap-healingcreams.com/book.html

Guest guest
Depends on how big you make them! for a one ounce size, $2.50 is a good price. That is just bagged and tied though. I sell a 2.5 ounce tube for $5. Re: lotion bars > Here's my lotion bar recipe! Guest guest
Hello All, I have been Lurking fer many weeks now. LOL. I am not a soap maker, but like to wish and dream I can afford to make all these lovely products. I make lipgloss, that’s my specialty and love, so I occassionally find useful tidbits on here. Anyhow, all this talk of lotion bars makes me want one. I do have a few questions about them? Are they creamy, kinda " greasy " thick. I have SUPER dry skin and winter is coming up, and they just don’t make lotion thick enough, so I am wondering about where I can sample and buy some of these lotion bars. Thanks everyone.
