Guest guest
Fiona, You have so many options open. Spend some time and think about what environment you could and want to work in, concentrate on your studies (yes, everyone says that ) and make an informed decision. If you want any specific advice, there is a lot of experience and knowledge on this list, just ask away. However, a small warning, never listen to those called either Greaber or Eglin, twisted old folks with too many beers and currys on board All the best, Ross Boardman Editor and Co-owner RemoteMedics ross@... www.remotemedics.co.uk > > hi, as a new member have had an e-mail asking me to introduce > myself. well currently i'm a student doing something completely > unrelated. i enjoy doing first aid and am a dedicated member of the > red cross! i would like a career in something medical based but have > no idea what! would like to take the first aid further. thought > about the army as a medic but they i've been told at the moment they > won't take me becuase i'm asthmatic and recently had a bad flair up! > anyway i don't know what else to write. i love reading about people > and what they do and currently looking for an interesting > challengeing medical career, if anyone has any ideas? > > fiona >

Guest guest
Steady on Tom, the one that really needs watching is Rod! Saw him yesterday trying to stuff the turkey, which luckily managed to run faster than he could (Mind you, he was wearing a rather fetching girl-guides uniform at the time!!!!) Seasons greetings to all. Daryl RE: me >Date: Thu, 26 Dec 2002 14:58:35 -0000 > >Fiona, > >You have so many options open. Guest guest
Fiona Hello. Welcome to the list. Please feel free to muck in with comments and questions whenever you wish to. We have all, at some time or another, made a complete ar*e of ourselves at some time or another on this list. If ever you do (which you will) just say 'ooops, silly me - sorry...' and move forward. Medicine is a wonderful subject - no matter if you are a first aider or a consultant. It is a subject which often takes over ones life which may account for so may on this list - which is one of the biggest in the world as far as I am aware... ! Guest guest
Hi Jos, Welcome to the list. As far as the list goes don't get too hung up on qualifications. You will find that once people have done the initial intro on themselves they tend not to be mentioned again. This is quite deliberate because we don't want to go the way of some other lists and degenerate into us and them situations. Remember no one has a monopoly on knowledge. Listen to the banter and learn. Once you feel happy to contribute to the list then feel free to " chip in " . No one will get nasty or flame you for expressing your opinion (unlike certain other sites on which if you deviate from the views of a few central people the wrath of the whole site descends on you). The good thing from this site is that we all learn from each other and try to improve our practice (however do remember to follow your local protocols ;-) ) I look forward to hearing from your self and all the other new members in the future. Lets liven the list up as the number of posts has been a bit down in recent times.
