Guest guest
The whipped body butters that I have tried are just shea butter & fragrance. You melt the shea & mix it for awhile, put in freezer. You keep doing this till you get the whipped cream consistincy. Guest guest
I just looked at me recipe & I told you wrong. It is 6-oz of shea, 3- oz of oil(I use sweet almond or apricot kernal oil) & fragrance oil. Heat the 2 oils together & melt. Whip with a mixer until cool, about 5 minutes. Put in the freezer or fridge for about 15 minutes. Keep doing this till you get the consisity that you want, then add fragrance oil. You don't need to go to all this trouble of melting, freezing, whipping, freezing, whipping, freezing, for quite a long time, then after the butter has set for a while it loses it's fluffiness. a simple way to do this and it will keep the frosting like consistence is to cut your shea into small chunks, into a mixing bowl, do not melt. With electric mixer mix on low until the chunks are mixed all together and creamy looking, add fragrance or whatever other ingredients that you want to add, mix on low until everything is mixed together. Then turn the mixer on high and whip for about three minutes or until the shea looks like a light fluffy frosting. Place in jars. Guest guest
Do the whipped body butters lose their texture if they melt. I don't currently whip mine, but I am thinking about it. During shipping in the summer heat, body butters can melt. Since mine aren't whipped it doesn't hurt them any and they set back up at room temperature. I would like to try a whipped body butter, but I'm afraid what would happen to it if it gets melted. I once ordered a body whip from a company that melted during shipment, and instead of a luscious 4 oz jar of body whip, I go about 1 oz of melted oils instead!! Very disappointing and I wouldn't want my customers to have that experience with my body butters. Any of you had your whipped body butter melt and what type of product did you have afterwards? What do you do for shipping during the summer months? Even if a customer leaves it in the car during the hot summer, it would still get melted I would think. Any tips?
