This combination of ingredients makes an excellent silky powder.

1/2 cup of arrowroot powder

1/4 cup of Kaolin Clay

1/4 cup of Corn Starch

15 drops of Fragrance or Essential oil

Combine all ingredients and add fragrance to preference. If you are

making this as a body powder, you can use a small bit of pink clay to

add just a touch of color.

Dear ,

This is TOO funny, because I was just searching for a recipe on the Internet

tonight ... I have some rockin' cool gold shimmer mica that I want to use in

a shimmery body dusting powder, but I am searching for a recipe. Here's what

I came up with:

2 C arrowroot powder or cornstarch

1/2 C baking soda

1/2 to 1 tsp. fragrance oil

That's if you want it scented ... which I probably would ... but it would be

a light scent. Can it really be this easy?!?

Dear ,

Yeah, it's too funny that you asked that question ... since I was

researching it last night! hehe :-) I hope that you have good luck with

finding a recipe that you like. If I see anything else, I'll let you know

.... I might just try that recipe, but I'll let you know ... and I'll see how

the FO works in the powder. H. told me that this recipe works and that

it is really that easy ... so I'll try! hehe :-)

how 'bout French Green Clay??? (I've used it to colour soaps and it worked

beautifully.)

It's not coming out because it's still damp.

Here's my secret for dealing with it. Take it out and put it in on a

parchment lined cookie sheet. Mix in some regular old rice (do you

remember how your mom/grandmom used to put rice in her salt shakers to

absorb the moisture from the air? Same principle). I would leave it on

the cookie sheet in a warm dry place until Friday. But I have had okay

luck putting the mix in a ziplock bag. (I have animals, no place in

the house can be considered safe from them, lol). Before you package

them up, sift the whole thing and discard the rice. It should be

pretty dry by now.

Too bad you don't have more time, a week or more is better. Also

adding some Kaolin clay can help the flow a bit.

recipe. It felt so good on the skin and the smell was wonderful. I put

it in the 4 oz. powder containers that I had purchased. It did not

seem to want to come out (flow) . I then took it all out and sifted it

about a dozen times. I put it back in and still the same problem. I

resifted it and made the holes a little bigger ( not very becoming).

Still not very good flow. What else could I do for this problem? I

have a customer that wants it as apart of her order by Friday. TIA

Hi Candy - Can you tell me value of adding baking soda to body powder?

Since it is an alkali, it reacts very strongly to water and to the EOs you

use, no doubt causing the clumping. Someone else mentioned using clay

(either bentonite, kaolin, French green, etc.) because it is so absorbent

and would thus pull and separate the " wet molecules " into itself, making the

overall product dryer. The clay is a wonderful blotter and good for damp

skin as well.

TIA.

I don't know about her---but I know that it takes 1-2 drops of my EO to abt

14 drops of my sisters EO. You can barely smell hers. Glitz

Candy, what about putting the powder in a nice box and including a big fluffy

powder puff to put it on with? I've seen those items somewhere, but

unfortunately, I can't remember where right off.

Brambleberry sells an item called " dryflo " (modified cornstarch) it

supposedly eliminates the flow problem. Although I've never used it (yet) I

hear it works.

I have a question about body powders. I only use corn starch on my babies so I

know that works really well. I never thought of useing it on grown ups. How

would you add eos and fos. Wouldn't they cake up? What other stuff can you add

with them.

You can use Natrasorb, which is, I believe, tapioca starch, or buy the starch in

an Asian store for about 60 cents a pound.

I'm sorry everyone. I copied Debi's email but forgot to paste it in order

to send off list. Forgive the oversight.
