Guest guest
Mine is what I'd call ergonomic. Has little ridges for fingers and seems to be well shaped for a human hand. Hmmmmm. I wonder why they'd change to a worse handle. You can call the number at www.thestick.com and the guy there (it was always the same guy whenever I called) could maybe tell you. Ann Hi All, Those of you who have the stick or the travel stick. Is your handle ergonimic? Little ridges for your fingers? Reason I'm asking. I was at our little running shop and was looking at the travel stick. It doesn't have the ergonomic handle that my regular size stick has on it. Just a squishy handle, which hurts my hands to grip, just not comfortable. The guy at the store seemed to think that they just changed the handle recently? I was planning on giving the other one to my cousin, and just keeping the smaller one. Connie

Guest guest
I talked with the person in the store, he indicated he was going to attempt to get me one with the " old " grip on it. I ordered a new pair of shoes, they should be in mid next week at the latest, and I'll find if they have an " old " stick there for me, and I'll let you know. If anything, I'd call to find out which one your getting, so you don't get stuck paying double shipping. It all depends on how sensitive your hands are. I can tell really easily, and my hands start to ache at an uncomfortable grip on something. Since you can purchase ergonomic most things, its something I'm willing to pay more. Whether its for painting or doing stuff in the yard, for me its worth it, others who don't feel, it may not be. Connie > > Mine is what I'd call ergonomic. Guest guest
Go to www.thestick.com. They have all kinds. You can read about what they do & why they're made the way they are. They're really good for digging down into the muscles & connective tissue. Much better than thumbs. The travel stick is 17 " (I think) -- the shortest one they make. Works real well on legs. Guest guest
The " Travel Stick " is a shorter version of the " The Stick. " These are massage tools, not canes. If you are looking for a collapsable cane, consider trekking poles " designed for hikers. For examples go to www.rei.com and enter " trekking poles " into the search box. People usually use them in pairs--one in each hand. They are designed for use outdoors and won't win any fashion points. Also, most of them have sharp " teeth " at the bottom and so if you're going to be using them indoors you'd want some with rubber tips or caps that can be used over the teeth. > > > Mine is what I'd call ergonomic. Guest guest
Actually, I got one of those to use as a cane, and it didn't work out at all. I then got a real collapsible cane (actually, it doesn't telescope, but folds up) from a drugstore, very reasonable price (can't remember what it was), and it was much better. It was made to lean on, which the walking stick isn't. Ann Re: the stick, handle question? The " Travel Stick " is a shorter version of the " The Stick. " These are massage tools, not canes. Guest guest
My travel stick just came in today. The handles are hard red plastic with rows of little dimples to make it less slippery. They seem to feel OK in my hands.
