Guest guest
Hi Farah, Ann, Thanks for the tips. It appears the heat worked a lot better, the ice just seemed to irritate things. Ice works wonders for other places besides my back. Plus, I took some celebrex, which I think helped much more than the muscle relaxor. Went to the reg doc today. Didn't do much, thinks I might have fibromalygia. So, I need to do some reading on that, and just keep going with the anti-imflamitory stuff. Gave me some new pills, for the fibro, so will see if it helps. Pt is tomorrow, and I moved my OS appointment up til this thurs, so hopefully I'll get more from them. If anyone has any websites or groups that have info on fibromyalgia and want to share that would be great. Connie
Guest guest
hi, i just got told i may have Fibromalagia too so if yu would like to chat and share info on our symptoms that would be great ... i have a lot of stress in my life and over a period of the last year my pain has slowly radiated to almost my whole body ... and the pain is not always in the same places although some places are consistent like the knee and back ? my doctor told me to research it before i see the next Rhematologist ... i got my daughter to press on the 18 spots that if are tender is how they diagnose it and almost all of them are? i also spoke with doctor about not taking any pain meds before seeing the specialist so that i can feel everything and she said definitely this is good idea ... i was also taking Bextra (anti-inflammatory) and it was helping and she said that it seems to help people with FM ... but my blood pressure is really high so i have to go off it ... i guess there are other things to take but not all covered on my plan .... what are yu taking? she gave me arthrotec now for inflammation ... and Morphine for pain and Oxycodone for breakthrough pain ... and amitrypiline (which can trick the brain into not feeling the pain but only works for some types of pain ) ... anyways it would be interesting to chat with yu ... hope to hear back .... Guest guest
The quitting caffeine. I haven't for the most part had any regular caffeine for probably 15+ years. . I will say I do on a rare occasion eat chocolate. Rare because it causes reflux for myself. I don't drink coffee, pop, etc. I gave up caffeine in high school because it messed with my sleep. So, it does mess with some peoples sleep patterns. I've been trying to convince my husband to give up caffeine, but he won't, as he has worse sleep habits than myself. Connie > > Hi KeL, > > I have to admit I didn't really know what Fibromyalgia was until I just looked it up. Then I remember my physical therapist talking about a treatment that seems to be experimental and working for some people. The nice thing about it is that there is NO risk at all. In fact what you do is health anyway.... You quit caffeine. No more coffee, mochas, tea, etc. >
