In my opinion Option B.During flights there are chances of inceased pulpal pressure & pain. So best option is to remove inflammed pulp and leave ledermix to subside any remnants of inflammation. We cant leave such pt. with just painkillers & antibiotics or only remove filling with sedative dressing as there could be severe pulpitis during flight.

Pl,ease correct me. Adnan

ledermix i think because it has antibiotic and steroidal properties as it is used in cases where we want to postpone the completion of root canal treatment so we can as well do it by placing this medicament (ledermix)i read it in a book (i think pink book) that ledermix is used to postpone a treatment for some time as the lady is all set to depart we can use ledermix dressing for some time and then proceed with the completion of the treatment .............as the emergency treatment demands pain relief so it has to be emergency access opening and placement of a suitable medicament temporarily for temporary symptomatic relief.........

Because LEDERMIXactive compound is highly effective anti-inflammatory cortisone derivative (triamcinolone acetonide) combined with a broad-range antibiotic(demethylchlortetracyline). From: Nituna Agarwal <nituna.agarwal@...> Sent: Sun, 2 January, 2011 16:26:01Subject: Re: Rx.

Concerning this question the general concession seems to be B, but pulpectomy is supposed to be for children and not adults and the age of this patient has not been mentioned so does that not make B a risky answer.A female patient comes to you complaining of persistent pain in a heavily restored central incisor; you suspect irreversible pulpitis and you have been told that she is in transit leaving by plane next day. i think pulpectomy here simply means removal of the pulp......so that shudnt divert our attention from answering....as only removal of the pulp has been considered...we are not doin the root canal treatment....so i thinkkkk....the term shud b valid...-

Pulpectomy is complete removal of pulp ie. RCT which we do for adults as well...pulpotomy is what can only be done in children.
