Guest guest
Hi , sorry for the data loss. Please invest in a cdrom burner and backup your data regularly on a cdrw. You can get a good one including installation for about $60. Another thing that can happen is that the computer gets stolen. It happened to a friend of mine and guess what no backup. I can't say I backup very often but I did while writing this ;-) RJ > I'm sorry for the post... > snip > the hard drive crashed data un-recoverable I lost everything >
Guest guest
Gmorning RJ I'm happier than a pig in mud now...I not only have a cdrom burner I now have a dvd burner too...I just told my dh this morning this new tower is the best thing since peanut butter lol it's so fast!!! now to remember the backups... Hey maybe we should do a buddy check in here to remind everyone to back up? lol PS I'm still sick about losing all the info though Re: Hard Drive Crash/OT Hi , sorry for the data loss. Why do ppl have to be so mean...we work hard for our things for them to go out and ruin or steal? I just don't get it!!! The wonders of a mind! Guest guest
Sorry to hear about your loss but there is some one that has somehow infected on the list as my e-mail address has been used to send viruses and they originate from a subscriber as follows: from adsl-18-96-100.btr.bellsouth.net ([68.18.96.100] helo=HENRYJAUGUIV), I have reported the matter to bellsouth. One virus infected attachment was sent to glenbrookfarm and was bounced back to me, I know that for one this cannot originate from my puter as it is sent with this in the header info: X-Mailer: Microsoft Outlook Express 6.00.2600.0000 X-MSMail-Priority: Normal X-Priority: 3 (Normal) MIME-Version: 1.0 I do not have Microsoft Outlook Express installed on this machine > tell me about it, last night, over 100 of my 120 emails were viruses...if i > ever get my hands on the runts doing it...lol. i too lost a lot of data, > luckily we had to HD in our computer so before i reformated the main one i > got to dump everything onto the HD that doesnt get used for that reason just > in case and the bonus is that my CD burner is working again...i will go > through all my files in the next few days and see what i can dig up to email > you.... > > tala > Regards bevione@... Guest guest
" I have reported the matter to bellsouth. One virus infected attachment was sent to glenbrookfarm and was bounced back to me, I know that for one this cannot originate from my puter as it is sent with this in the header info: X-Mailer: Microsoft Outlook Express 6.00.2600.0000 X-MSMail-Priority: Normal X-Priority: 3 (Normal) MIME-Version: 1.0 FYI ... WE don't use Microsoft outlook either and just like you YOUR e-mail address has been hijacked by the virus , is the reason why it was bounced back to you. Mine was hijacked because on any given day my e-mail address sits in about 50,000 in boxes around the Earth and if that e-mail isn't deleted you can start adding them up. So if you send an e-mail on any given day to any PLACE and not just to a list you are subject to hijacking by a virus. If you use e-mail you are subject to hijacking and so it goes..
