Guest guest
Hi i think an aesthetic restoration should be a restoration (which looks satisfying after completion). Where as a cosmetic one is entirely to be used for something like a diamond on a tooth. But a composite to cover the midline diastema covers both aspects.I may be wrong but this is my explanation and do correct me. Guest guest
hey lyud......i personally think...that an AESTHETIC RESTORATION wud be one....which is an absolute replica of the original tooth structure....as it was in the patients mouth.....wid no noticeable changes for the outsiders!!whereas...a cosmetic restoration...wud include....re-designing of a tooth structure...like enameloplasty or veneering etc..besides others like tooth jewellery etc. that noticeably enhance the beauty of a smile...by displaying the perfect Golden rule...(ie.exposure of some fixed % of each tooth as seen from the front when one smiles!)hope this answer is satisfactory!lovesups Hi guys Do you know the difference between an aesthetic restoration and a cosmetic one? Guest guest
i think aesthetic restoration is one which is good to look at in terms of the quality of the restoration, functionally fulfilling and the anatomy of the tooth restored(building of cuspal contours, giving fissures and oblique ridges, etc). the restoration could be in an anterior or posterior tooth whereas cosmetic is the one done for cosmetic purposes like a dental jewelery, cosmetic contouring of anterior teeth like in cases of sharp and dracula like canines....in conditions relating to restoration of anterior teeth both the requirements do overlap...correct me if im wrong regards pavan
Guest guest
Hi Lyudmyla! I found this site where they tell us the difference between the terms aethetic and cosmetic: http://www.airodental.com/cosmetic-vs-aesthetic-dentistry Aparently a Cosmetic restauration is only about giving the impression of beauty while a aesthetic also cares about adaptation and fuction. Hope it helps.
