Guest guest
How are you doing now? Are you better or worse than before the osteotomy at this point in time? I am asking because two doctors had recommended an osteotomy for me. I chose not to because of my age--48. Mike MT autologous chondrocyte implant > Hey everyone, I am new to this board. Guest guest
Well, I see nobody's answered this. We discussed the procedure a while back, but I can't remember anyone saying they'd had it done. I personally would like to hear how it goes for you. I hope it goes well and fast. What was the osteotomy you had? I'm having to re-build my quads too. Spent 5 years trying to get help. Ended up with a partial meniscectomy & debridement of several spots of chondromalacia. Before the operation I could only walk a couple of bocks. Now I can walk for half an hour on the treadmill and I suspect that I could get back to hiking (short ones) if I went up to the mountains (California, the Sierra). Since I gained weight during those 5 years, walking is now hard on my feet. If it's not one thing, it's another. Good luck. Do please keep us posted. Ann autologous chondrocyte implant Hey everyone, I am new to this board. I am a 23 year old male from near Chicago. I have had 6 knee surgeries. I recently had the ACT procedure performed. I had the cartilage cells removed in early January, and they were implanted in late February. I also had an osteotomy performed at the time of implantation. I was on crutches for 10 weeks, and used a cane for one week. I am in PT to regain normal gait pattern and my poor poor leg muscles. It will be 2 years or so before I am 100% back to normal, or 95% back to normal. I am looking for anyone who has had this op or might be having this op. Thanks and I hope to hear back from someone. Guest guest
What is an ACT procedure? Since you mentioned you had cartilage removed and just put back in, how is that going? Are you in less pain than before the procedure started? Connie > > Hey everyone, I am new to this board. I am a 23 year old male from > near Chicago. I have had 6 knee surgeries.
