Guest guest
They're in conjunction with UPenn, my hospital! I guess that's what my doc was talking about! Darn, maybe he does know what he's talking about... I thought I could forget him and find somewhere, anywhere, that was doing something. My doc says arthoscopic surgery doesn't work, nor ingections of lubricant. Only PT. That's all I can do, and this stuff in the darn " 5-7 years. " OK, well, it's not like I needed the rest of my twenties or anything... great. > there hasn't been much news on that one. check these out too. > > http://www.biosyntech.com/en/BST-CarGel.htm > > http://quickstart.clari.net/qs_se/webnews/wed/cq/Bbiosyntech.RenQ_DSB ..html > > http://www.tissue.polymtl.ca/Publications/ORS%20folder/Full- thickness%20Cartilage%20repair%20using%20an%20injectable.pdf > > > > > Salubria > > > > Does anyone know the results of the cartilige replacement in Europe? > > Is it working? Guest guest
I've not asked that question of the company, but >>solidifies in approximately 10 minutes.<< sounds to me like it is intended to stay solid. The liquid form, I'm guessing, is for easy delivery to the defect. Also, if your body temp reaches room temp, you've got more serious problems to worry about than your knee(s). ;-) Salubria > > > > > > > Does anyone know the results of the cartilige replacement in > Europe? > > > Is it working? The PT will only hurt you if you don't get the inflammation calmed down first. I believe PT can help, but the doctors also need to help get the inflammation knocked down first.....then get on a proper PT program. The first five doctors I went to hurt me more than helped. Fortunately I didn't let any of them do surgery, although I got to the point I needed a LR just to get the inflammation knocked down, since it had gotten totally out of control until I found a doctor who knew what he was doing. I am now just recovering from my second LR in three weeks. Even in these early stages, it has seemed to relieve a lot of the tremendous pressure under my knee caps. This is something I have noticed when sitting. I am able to sit comfortably for the first time in years. Mike MT
Guest guest
lol, ok, funny boys... i just mean, when i think about inserting unnatural things in my body, i think about breast implants and the like, which explode and leak, and i worry that nothing is 100% safe, so what if I were out in the cold and it started to well, " leak " or something similar. i guess i'm naive, i just don't know much about biotech. when new things come on the market, there's always problems... i have some porcelin veneers and now i can't smile in the cold wind for very long! > > > there hasn't been much news on that one. check these out too. > > > > > > http://www.biosyntech.com/en/BST-CarGel.htm > > > > > > > > http://quickstart.clari.net/qs_se/webnews/wed/cq/Bbiosyntech.RenQ_DSB > > .html > > > > > > http://www.tissue.polymtl.ca/Publications/ORS%20folder/Full- > > thickness%20Cartilage%20repair%20using%20an%20injectable.pdf > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > Salubria > > > > > > > > > > Does anyone know the results of the cartilige replacement in > > Europe? > > > > Is it working? Guest guest
Oh I can't stand this -- your doc says arthroscopic surgery doesn't work???? Wherever did he get that idea? True, it doesn't CURE CP, but it CAN turn the clock back some. Geez. I can't remember -- he's not an OS, is he? Can you get to an OS w/o his referring you? Guest guest
Well my insurance doesn't cover Temple University, which is the best in this area I hear, but UPenn should be really good, I would think. I really do want a second opinion, though. My PT starts today (finally!) I'll see how that goes. I think the Bextra is working, but I find I'm increasing the dosage from what was perscribed. And I wonder if it makes me sleepy, or if that's all in my head. Or a consequence of the exertion it takes to stand or move. > > there hasn't been much news on that one. check these out too. > > > > http://www.biosyntech.com/en/BST-CarGel.htm > > > > > http://quickstart.clari.net/qs_se/webnews/wed/cq/Bbiosyntech.RenQ_DSB > .html > > > > http://www.tissue.polymtl.ca/Publications/ORS%20folder/Full- > thickness%20Cartilage%20repair%20using%20an%20injectable.pdf > > > > > > > > > > Salubria > > > > > > > Does anyone know the results of the cartilige replacement in > Europe? > > > Is it working? Guest guest
Is Bextra an NSAID? That cortisone shot I had yesterday in my knee spread to the rest of my body and I FEEL GREAT!! Cortisone does that to me. I have no pain. It also makes my brain function better I didn't realize the degree of pain (generalized) I've been living with. Sure makes a differences in how I feel about getting out of bed. Wish it would last. Good luck -- hope you get a better OS.
