Guest guest
My daughter makes bath and body products on a small scale and she and I do a lot of comparing notes, as I make mixed media and paper art. I've learned a lot from the past 30 or so years and myself have found that participating in the smaller art and craft shows just hasn't been profitable for me. I think that is in part because many of the people who come to this sort of thing are interested in finding examples of things that they could do themselves :^) I'll bet I am seeing lots of heads nodding yes. Anyhow, since she has kind of moved beyond that idea, I've encouraged her to think of group marketing, and have passed on some of my positive experiences of marketing with other people in a sort of co-op arrangement. For example in the past I showed and sold my paintings with a potter and a weaver and a jewellery maker and we all did very well because we attracted the same kind of buyers. I am thinking that I could now market the small shadow box pieces that I do along with her " body botanicals " and the things made by perhaps two or three others. Do you guys have any suggestions from either experience or just ideas about what other things show/sell well with body and bath products? Nature themed stationery maybe?
