Guest guest
Hi, About he numbness in the legs. Wouldn't that be a nerve problem? You mentioned you had a back injury at work, maybe something got injured or a little pressure somewhere around the spinal column. I'm definetly no expert, but I'm not exactly sure a orthopedic doc may not be the right person to see about a numbness in your leg issue. In my mind, orthopedics docs like to work with broken bones, torn ligaments. You could always ask him, what type of doc specializes in nerve problems. Maybe talk to your primary care doc about seeing another specialist, I really wouldn't know which type of doc that would be. Plus, there is always faithful google searches, to help give you info too. Guest guest
Maybe, maybe not. Many times numbness or pain in the patella region can be caused by pinched nerves in the back or hip, something most likely solved by an OS and surgery. In my case I have nerve damage causing trembling in my legs. The massive inflammation of chondromalacia was pressing on the nerves in the knee. My OS doing a LR reduced the inflammation and relieved the pressure on the nerves eliminated the trembling. The first OS I saw did extensive X-rays of my back and hip to rule out pinched nerves in those areas. Mike MT Re: Shots anyone? Guest guest
My OS told me Monday that there's a major nerve that goes across the knee proximal to the kneecap. He nicked it during my surgery and I've had some loss of feeling in my skin lateral to the kneecap. He said that it frequently gets disturbed during a TKR. Unfortunately, I don't know whether it leads to the lower leg or not, or the name of it. Oh, the failing brain!! Ann Re: Shots anyone? Guest guest
Sophie, I have a similar problem with my legs as well. You need to see a neurologist. I have two bulging discs that cause numbness as well as the sudden fall on occasion. The discs that are bulged out are pinching the nerves in my back causing my problems. The nerves in my legs are good, I had oodles of tests done an EEG I believe is the one that showed NO nerve response in my back. Ask you doc he should be able to refer you to a good neurologist.
