Knee question

OK I've been feeling pretty good the last month.

Then today, I'm going down the stairs at the gym, and

my knee starts to get aggrivated again. This

is before my workout.

THe pain was right at the platella tendon in front of the

knee below the knee cap, and then it was kind of going on

down the shin. Of course it got me mid flight on a

1 story high decend.

So, I wiggled around my regular chopat brace, and

rubbed at the platella tendon.

Later in my workout I could tell that my either it

was my IT band or hamstring were tight.

I was tight on the lateral side, then back a little

bit into the hamstring.

I think Ann had mentioned she was noticing her pain

knee get worse when her IT band gets tight.

I'm really starting to think my initial knee " problem "

and this flare up are because of the tight it band.

What do you all think?

I know when I hurt the knee last year, I was having

IT band that was tight. Then when the knee thing happened.

Pain was all over the knee, and the docs were confused because

I had pain in tons of different places around the knee.

I've been having the floating IT band tightness, feelings

slightly behind the knee, and above the knee, here and there.

The holiday season is killing me, since I'm not at the

gym as regularly getting a good stretch.

I was thinking about icing the knee and seeing about

putting some heat on the IT band?

What do you think about heating the IT band/quad area to

loosen it up? Or is ice a better approach?

Any thoughts.

Thanks,

Connie
