Guest guest
Greetings from Hoonah Alaska, Just a quick question for WKG lovers. When I restart my WKG's every other day I always put bananas that I have dried in with the water and sugar. This is what I was told to do. (Then I discovered MLK and forgot about learning any more about the WKG) I saw a post somewhere that said I can use raisins instead. So my question is … when I give my WKG new water and sugar. What fruit can or should I use and what fruit should I avoid? Thank You Steve & Harlena Of Hoonah Alaska
Guest guest
Greetings Steve & Harlena, You probably don't remember me, but I presented workshops there about 20+ years ago when I worked with the elders of the Central Council villages drafting revised Constitutions and ordinances, forming tribal court structures and rules, etc. I miss it all!! I have posted part of a book I wrote while there on my retired attorney " url " below about traditional laws and the bridge across to the codified. Check it out! I believe Harold was from Hoonah, if I recall right. I was adopted into wolf/eagle clan and given the name " Sheteex " (an ancestor that had been legal, medical healer). Anyway ... on the fruits to use ...its been a few days since I've done WKG myself, (just a lot of innovation with the MKG), but I recall being very concerned as to which fruits to use/not use and was advised to not use sulfured dried fruit so I made sure my raisins, etc. weren't. Later, I read of some others NOT having problems with theirs with sulfured fruit, but my instincts would still tell me to beware on them. DOM's website has a lot of uses for the WKG, for instance with making herbal medicine drinks. http://users.chariot.net.au/~dna/kefirpage.html#alternativekefir http://users.chariot.net.au/~dna/Makekefir.html#Kefir-d-acqua That is the one with the most recipes following Oh, check out my website http://nativelegaleaglesaerie.wikidot.com on my retired attorney part of life .. Also, my website http://recipesandremedials.wikidot.com has a lot of kefir innovations on it (as well somewhere my " JustaMouse-in-a-Corner " Sheteex " with the Chilkat blanket gathering herbs in the Alaskan woods. I did it on my computer for her blanket (that took days to do).) In case you enjoy such things. Cheers, Joyce M. Simmerman (Oh, I was " Abraham " most of the time I was there, then " Abraham-Simmerman " which was my Alaska bar & court registration legal name.)
