Guest guest
Al - you've mentioned this a couple times and I'm curious how much salt you add per quart of water. Thanks, Shari
Guest guest
I'm just getting my WKG out of rest, recovery. I've only had them for about a month or so and didn't treat them right...just learning and was culturing for 3days instead of 2. I was culturing for 3 days, skimping slightly on the organic cane sugar and allowed the grains to consume more of the sugar so it wouldn't be so sweet and I wasn't using any minerals or Himalayan salt. They seemed to be growing really fast but then there seemed to be a lot of stuff floating around in the keifer water. I looked up on the cultures for health as to what the problem was. I was starving my grains and they weren't getting the required minerals. I followed the recipe to rest, restore and rejuvinate the grains and it included unprocessed sea salt for the minerals. I decided to use my Himalayan salt that I already had...besides,.I believe it's more pure than sea salt as it comes from the inside of a mountain that was formed about thousand years ago prior to pollution. I did 2 rest/rejuvinate sessions and starting to use the Himalayan salt at 1/4 tsp per qt. The first 2 days after the rest the grains didn't seems to be working because I didn't see a lot of bubbles. But now, after 4 days, it looks like the grains are very active and growing again...that was today. I was wondering if other people are using the Himalayan salt for their minerals. Al Himalayan salt > >Al - you've mentioned this a couple times and I'm curious how much salt you add per quart of water. > >Thanks, Shari > >
