Guest guest
Things around the house got a bit busy for a while, and the kefir got neglected... Over the past three months or so, it's sat in the fridge for the most part, every five - six weeks I'd take them out and get them going for a couple of days in a row, then something would come up and they'd go back in the fridge. Recently I pulled them out and started kefiring again. When I stopped last time, I had one big grain that I used, now I have a bunch of smaller ones, and they don't seem to get bigger in clumps. They definitely grow, but are very fragile and fall apart into smaller pencil eraser sized grains when I move them about. Also, my old grain was really hard and over time some of the newer growth has been soft, but some of it's still hard. Any ideas as to whether or not I should just start over with fresh grains, or if my grains might still be okay? Ben
Guest guest
They are recovering. I'd work with what you have. They are making good kefir, right?
