Storing the kefir

I just made my very first batch of kefir. I was pleasantly surprised at how bad

it DIDN'T taste. I drank about half of it this morning.

How do I store the remaining kefir? Do I put it in the fridge until I finish it

or leave it on the counter?

Thanks

I take mine out of the bottle with the grains, put the liquid in a glass

bottle, put it in the fridge.

I put some fresh milk, maybe a quarter of a cup over the grains in a clean

glass bottle to wait until I am ready to fill the bottle with milk to make

kefir. That little bit of milk and grains, I cover with the same thing I

cover if I am making kefir, and let it stand at room temp until I am ready

to make it. I do this because mine makes in about 12 hours, so I wait until

evening to mix it and set it out, and I " harvest " it something before lunch

the next day!
