Can I use plastic strainers? Or is stainless steel better?

Well, if you are getting enough kefir to drink I wouldn't worry about it.

If they are going backwards, that is a real concern. Silicone strainers and

spoons make kefir grains totally disintegrate. There is probably something

you haven't noticed you are doing differently. They don't just stop growing

without cause. Mine have never stopped growing in the 35 years I've been

doing this. Good thing!
