Guest guest
As a teen, I drank a lot and " seemed " to tolerate it well. Problem came one day when the alcohol made me too weak to even vomit and that led to alcohol poisoning and I nearly died. Had to be rushed to ER and have my stomach pumped - thankfully I don't remember it! - BUT, I would've died if I wasn't with a person knowledgeable about my condition and what could happen. Sadly, my good friend's 21 year old, completely healthy son did die just that way. Don't mean to be a kill joy, have fun, have a drink once in a while but please listen to your body! Maybe drink something with electrolytes after anything with alcohol. Trust me, it sucks waking up drunk in the hospital! MAJOR buzz kill! =) > > > > From: <laurablair620@> > > Subject: alcohol > > > > Date: Sunday, January 29, 2012, 7:05 PM > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > Â > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > Hey guys, > > > > > > > > So I've noticed that every time i drink, i get an extremely racy heart 4-6 hours AFTER i consume the drink(s). when i'm awake and doing things my heart rate is normally anywhere from 80-120bpm. But when i get this racy heart after drinking, my heart rate will literally go up to like 150bpm and lasts like an hour or 2. i have no heart condition and no other reaction to alcohol. any ideas? > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > >
Guest guest
Hello everyone, When I was in college, I was a pretty rowdy drinker. Thankfully I came to the conclusion that alcohol and I were a bad combination. I have not had a drink since February 8, 1986. Although I have no recollection of how alcohol affected my heart rate, what primarily led me to quit was that frequently after I got drunk, I ended up with a serious respiratory infection. After four hospitalizations in 15 months, the doctor and I finally figured it out. When I drank too much, the muscles in my neck and throat would become too relaxed and I would end up aspirating. I come from a family of alcoholics and there is definitely a tendency for this to run in families. Since I quit, other than this summer, I have not had to be hospitalized at all. In lieu of alcohol, I find that heroin and crack are a great substitute! Just kidding… Thanks for the opportunity to explain how alcohol affected me. Take care, T.K. Guest guest
Yes. Staying hydrated and getting electrolytes is the key. ________________________________ From: Robyn Silva <robynesilva@...> " " < > Cc: " " < > Sent: Monday, January 30, 2012 11:25 AM Subject: Re: Re: alcohol  I don't think it's ever made me tired, but I do remember my heart racing after a night of heavy drinking, like once I came home and laid down. It would take me a while to fall asleep even. Never stopped me though :-) it doesn't do that anymore though. But then I don't drink near as much as I used to. Guest guest
I think alcohol is not a great idea with Lyme disease if you have Lyme. Especially if you are doing medications it is sorta counter intuitive. If you don't have Lyme, no problem.
