Guest guest
Someone has given me kefir grains that were stored in a fridge in a ziploc without milk for about 3 weeks. I've fed them every 24 hours for 5 days. They seem to be trying to work. I'm not sure. The kefir is slightly yeasty and has no nice tang. Maybe I'm too hopeful, maybe they aren't fermenting the milk but the milk is merely doing what unchilled milk does. Do you think that they could be alive, or would milk turn thick in 24 hours at room temp without kefir grains? Thanks, in Nashville
