Hey Stepha! When is the best time of week/day to get BF measured? I

didn't do mine at the beginning of my challenge (march 15) I had it

done in February but then delayed the beginning BFL.

as long as you get it done at the same time each time, you'll get a

consistant result. But if you are starting a challenge, I suggest

getting it done first thing Monday morning on an empty stomach, then

each time after that on a Sunday BEFORE you start your free day

eating festivities, because you will be carrying water on Monday

morning.

Jeanine, I had that problem last winter. After months of waiting for

the soap to shrink, I finally ran the molds under hot water to melt the

soap a little. The detail wasn't as crisp but I didn't lose too much.

Patience is the key here. If, after leaving the soap in the freezer for a

couple of hours and then running hot water over the backs of them and

smacking them a couple of times doesn't work, then let them sit for a week

and try again.

If you force them, you'll likely end up with some of the soap coming out,

but with some sticking to the molds. Ask me how I know. LOL.

Mine was the Green Man ~ only one lost enough detail to become my

bar. It had come down to either heating it or just digging it out.

Heating under running water worked.

Good Luck! Let us know how you accomplish it!

6 more hours in the freezer and then hot water on the back of the molds.

All came out beautifully. I did lose one rectangle mold. The loaf molds

were fine and Kokopelli is perfect. I'll post to FB when I get a chance.

Don't know what happened this time. I've used the recipe many times.

Isn't it crazy? Sometimes, you just can't account for things in soapmaking.

I didn't put the loaf molds in the freezer, just hadn't cut them as soon as

I usually do. Those soap gremlins...

Thanks to all for the suggestions.

Dear fellow health hobbyists,

I have a problem that I thought I would describe to you-all in the hopes of

learning more about it.

Some years ago I had this excruciating pain in my toes that would happen for

about 5 or 10 seconds and then be gone for 2 or 3 minutes. I solved the problem

by rebounding (jumping on a mini- trampoline) for about 30 minutes a day for a

few weeks. Rebounding supposedly moves lymph, and I believe it. It healed the

pain.

Yesterday, my puppy-zilla landed smack dab on the top of my left foot, and it

hurt. But the worse was yet to come. It started the above pattern of pain for

10 seconds and relief for a minute or so, only just exactly where my puppy-zilla

landed. Her landing on my foot barely qualified as an injury. It was a little

scratch. But, obviously, there was some injury below the skin and above the

bone. So, it started to do these throbs as described above, but only where my

baby-girl landed with her paws. This became more of a problem because I could

not sleep with the intermittent throbbing. I tried EFT, and that held the

throbs off for as long I was doing EFT, but they just returned as bad as ever,

and one cannot sleep while one is tapping. I tried rebounding, and that worked

while I was rebounding, but again, I have been told by reliable sources that one

cannot sleep while one is rebounding [sarcastic humor]. I tried kefir on the

spot where it hurt. That didn't do anything, even though one would think that

the placebo effect would help, since I am a kefir fanatic. I tried putting it

in ice water, and that worked really good. It would continue to work for many

minutes after I took my foot out of the ice water, but, again, it would come

back. And it is impossible to sleep while one has one's foot in ice water. So,

I did not fall asleep until 6:00 A.M. this morning and got only 3 hours of

sleep. {I thank you for your condolences in advance.}

So, today, it was OK, until I took a hot bath (and tried to catch a nap in the

dark in the hot water). Well, surprise, surprise, it came back because of the

hot water. It is much better now (1:11 P.M.), I guess because some healing as

happened. But there is still a little pain.

I am a pitta for you ayurvedic folks. I am 65 years old. I have been a health

hobbyist for about 40 years, on and off.

Any ideas and comments would help. Thank you in advance.

Sincerely,

Bird

Hi ,

I just went through a mystery foot pain with my mother. She would have severe

foot pain when she tried to walk and it was there in a less intensity when she

sat. Per her PCP and because of her age I took her to many specialists (heart,

vein, etc. . . ) and still to no avail we had no reason for the pain in her

ankle. By the way, we hear she will live to be 100+ from all of the tests they

did. We went through about 15 appointments in two months.

Finally, the orthopedic listened to me and we had an MRI done on her ankle and

found a small cyst in between her tendons. He gave her a choice between a

cortizone shot (only once to try to avoid surgery) and orthoscopic surgery to

remove it. He preferred the shot first as it sometimes reduces the inflammation

enough that the cyst actually goes away.

Mom makes and drinks kefir, eats healthy from scratch diet that is predominately

organic and until a year ago walked on her treadmill everyday for years. She is

84. We really did not want to do the shot, however we also did not want to put

mom through surgery needlessly and the pain was wearing her down and

interfearing with her quality of life. We tried the shot. She is doing much

better. Time will tell if the cyst actually goes away. If not, surgery

(orthoscopic which is less invasive) is the next step.

I also had a friend who had a mystery pain in his foot and it turned out to be

to be gout.

The point I am trying to make is that I would at least consider some

non-invasive testing to see if they can figure out what is causing your pain and

offer you solutions so you can decide if any of them are worth the risks or you

can figure a treatment of your own or so you at least know what is wrong even if

you decide you can live with the pain.

Just a thought or two. I hope this helps some.

,

The best solution for pain I've found is acupuncture. Yes, it requires several

visits to an acupuncturist who sticks you with thin little needles (that I

barely felt), and you have to stay still for up to an hour with these needles

sticking out of you. Buy my pain went away last year after 6 months of

incessant pain in my arm. 5 Sessions and it was gone.

I'm a believer - at least when it comes to pain.
