Guest guest
Hi everyone, I was wondering if anyone here knew whether the kefir fermenting process changes the calorie content of the milk. I am currently on a diet, and I have been trying to find this out just so I can factor my kefir into my daily calorie intake accurately. Does the process take in energy or release energy? Or does it all balance out making it roughly the same as before it fermented? So far, I've been counting the calories of the milk that goes into it, and I haven't noticed any decrease in my weight loss...still, it'd just be nice to know. I have tried to diet many times before with very, very little success, requiring near starvation to lose any weight (I have an autoimmune thyroid disorder). I started consuming probiotic foods when I started this diet, and so far, I've lost 31 pounds! And I am eating more than I ever have on a diet (not that I'm eating a ton, but, definitely more than I've ever been able to and still lose weight). I have hardly felt like I am even dieting. Yippee!!! I'm so glad I discovered kefir and espeically that I began making it at home. My boyfriend is quite sure I have gone mad, haha.
