Guest guest
So I just got done separating my grains and I had alot of Big ones, I did not realize, I rinsed them in the process, and I was wondering for future reference if they are too big-like a quarter, does that hinder the guts of the grain from working! does it not make milk kefir correctly? Guest guest
No, not at all. In fact I love it when my grain is large enough to kefir a quart of milk and I can pick it out instead of straining. I've had EXCELLENT luck with single large grains producing fabulous Kefir. Guest guest
I got my milk Kefir Grain from you Kathy & I have to say, it's doing amazingly well!! Great Milk Kefir right away! I love the fact that you shipped it in a glass jar too! I paid via Paypal and was a little nervous doing that & not knowing if I'd really get anything in return but I got confirmation within 2 hours that it had shipped out and I received it within 3 days. Very pleased!!! If anyone wants a beautiful MKG, Kathy is the one to order from!!! Lori Re: Grains being too big? I hear it does...so cut in half... Guest guest
So why is the alcoholic taste and smell so rampant!I hate that-Do I need new grains, after I made them much smaller I made a new batch and they all suck to the bottom of the jar-do they need help restarting-should I boil the milk? WHAT IS WRONG????? I HAVE HAD MY GRAINS FOR A MONTH!WHY ARE THEY DOING THIS???? Guest guest
Hi Allie, It sounds to me like you need to adjust either the amount of grains per amount of milk or the length of time that you brew. As your grains grow in size and number they will brew faster if you use the same amount of milk for the same brewing time. That has been my experience. I would just try altering your method/recipe a bit and see what happens.
