Is it okay to consume kombucha while breastfeeding?

Thank you,

Thanks Devra,

We've started fermenting veggies too. so far salsa. J but it's a start. I

bought 3 sized of the fancy jars with the air locks to be savfe. Everyone

loves it and even uses it at meal times. so it's not just a dip a chip sort

of thing.

I just looked up beet Kvass. we like beets. maybe I could get the family to

try that soon.

Would you drink Kombucha and or Kvass on the same day as Kefir, or alternate

or just whatever you would like whenever? (that's what I'm hoping is okay -

whatever, whenever. (smile)

We're hoping to flavor and ferment some Kombucha for some fizz, but we like

it plain - I was looking at fruits and ginger - thanks for the beet idea. I

appreciate it.

Thank you,

phine

Side note - I've never combined Kerfir and Kombucha but I recently added

Bett Kvass to my schedule and it's super tasty with a bit of kombucha mixed

in.

phine,

I don't drink kombucha, but I drink kvass and kefir during the same day,

whenever I feel like it. Fallon [whose recipe I use for beet kvass, minus about

one third of the salt] recommends 4 oz kvass morning and evening for regularity.

I drink a lot more than that, because I really like it. I am not sure what the

issue of drinking both kombucha and kefir in one day might be, but I think in

general some people find they have to ease their way into probiotic foods and

drinks. But if you take your cues from what your own body is trying to tell you,

you won't go wrong.

Possible reasons for some people warning against both kombucha and kefir

in 1 day is fear of upsetting their alkaline/acid balance, (although I

would not advise against it as I think that is a non-issue). Joyce
