Hi. I'm new to the group and hope to start making kefir at home. Can anyone

lead me to a local source of good, healthy kefir grains for the San Francisco

Bay area? (I'm in Richmond.) I'm most interested in milk kefir to start with.

If that goes well, I'll branch out into water kefir. Thank you,

andra

Hi. I'm new to the group and looking for a good source of kefir grains. I live

in Berkeley, CA. I did not find any response to this Dec. 2010 request for local

Bay Area source of good kefir grains. Maybe there was some response I did not

see. I hope someone can let me know the best way to get good quality kefir

grains. Thank you!

Dear Tao,

Here is a list that you can find people willing to supply you with kefir:

http://www.torontoadvisors.com/Kefir/kefir-list.php

I found several people on the list, 1 in Berkeley, , northern California.

You might also try craigslist, which is how I got my MKGs.

Try Craigslist in your area:

sfbay.craigslist.org

do a search for " kefir " in all the " for sale " section. There are free offers

from time to time, as well as folks selling them.
