Guest guest
I got my grains before Christmas (poor planning & timing!) & put them on hold til after the holidays. They have grown! but I only have about 1/3 cup. I tried making coconut kefir with them one time, but didn't know what I was doing. I used 1T rapadurs along with the coconut milk, water & sugar. I had about 3 inches of ugly brown foam on top which didn't stir down or stir in. Let it go for about 2 days, didn't like the taste, so dumped the batch because company was coming & too busy doing other cooking & baking. Did I have a good thing going? Was the brown foam normal? Do you skim it off, stir it in, or what? I've never tasted any of this so have no idea 'when it's doen to my liking.' So far I know what I don't like! So now - today. I have some coconut milk open so need to use it. 1cup coconut milk 1/2c (scant) water kefir grains 1 qt water 1/3 cup sugar 1T rapadura - because we have a filter on our well water so figure I need the rapadura. Before I mix this all together again, just want some feedback. Thanks! ~~J9
