Need advise, will freezing kefir kill the pro-biotics?

Will freezing some of my kefir harm or kill the available pro-biotics?

I make enough for my 83 year old Mom, but I can only make the trip to deliver it

to her, once a week. Freezing it would be a great help, if it does not harm it.
