Guest guest
Wow Carol, those are gorgeous jars! Has anyone here tried them? I'm wondering if thickened kefir would pour easily from them, as they seem to be designed for cold, watery beverages like lemonade. They all look pretty tall, too. I'd check the dimensions of any dispenser I was considering buying, to make sure it would fit in my fridge (I prefer my kefir chilled). Many thanks for that link, though, and also thank you to Ron for posting about this method of fermenting and dispensing kefir. I agree with Tina that we're a very germophobic society these days. Personally, I think that's why so many kids get sick so much more than we did when we were kids, " back in the day. " We got exposed to a lot more germs without all the sanitary sprays and wipes and antibacterial soaps, air filters and what have you. Consequently, we built up a lot more immunities. Bet if we'd had kefir we'd never have been sick at all! > > > > > Tina, > > You can drill your own Mason jar in the size that you need and add a > > spigot (they are about $5) or go decorative with your container; for ideas: > > http://www.infusionjars.com/glassbeveragedispenser-decorativeglassjars.aspx > > Carol K
