It was a couple of drops of castor oil in the baby's ear. I tried it

for me this afternoon and it worked immediately. Thank God, I didn't

need an ear ache on top of an eye infection and sore throat. Hope it

Just put a few drops in your ear. If it is a very bad one, put a hot water bottle over the ear to add a little warmth to the area also. From what I have read, it seems to me that the healing power of Castor Oil is enhanced when heat is added for about an hour.

Karma, thanks for the reference about castor oil for eye infections.

I thought of it myself, but after the infection started to clear up.

It's reassuring to see it in print though, and I'll keep it in mind.

care from a noted Vermont country doctor " by D.C. Jarvis, M.D. says

that he used Castor Oil in eye infections also. I also both books

and have found everything that they suggested that I tried to be

true. I have NOT tried to put castor oil in my eyes though. This is

what Dr. Jarvis says in his book about eyes though, in case you want

to try it. ***If the eye develops redness and irritation, one drop

of castor oil dropped in the eye makes it more comfortable and

relieves irritation. Pg. 151-152
