Guest guest
I got this message from e-groups yesterday. Just passing it along. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Ok, I'm sure many of you noticed a bunch of problems with the eGroupsweb site on Friday September 8th. Well, there were a couple ofproblems...For one, the Internet Service Provider we use, Global Center, had one oftheir major fibre optic cables cut. This caused a large amount ofnetwork congestion, which caused intermittent access to our web sitefrom 10:20am to 2:15pm.To add insult to injury, we then lost power at 10:50am to some of ourmachines. This interrupted mail delivery and archive access for somegroups until noon. One of the machines that went down contained our bounce database. Itdidn't come back up, and we eventually had to restore it from backup. The bounce database was down until 5:45pm. This means that all pages onour site which contained extended bounce information would have had nobounce information until the database was back online. All times in US/Pacific (-0700 GMT).Sorry for the inconvenience.
