Guest guest
I have had bilateral distal realignments 1998-Rt and January 2000 left knee as well as 10 other knee surgeries. My left knee continues to hurt a great deal especially in the area where the screw was (top of the tibia) from the realignment. I had the screw taken out of my left knee in August 2000 and the bone filled in with inflammation instead of bone. In December 2001, I had another surgery to clean out the bone and allow it to heal. This fall I began having more pain at the site of the screw in the top of my tibia. My doctor said I had a stress fracture which I had in the other knee too several times. I recently got a copy of my medical records. The x-rays reports beginning last May noted a " re-demonstration of post-surgical changes from the tibial tubercle transfer " . Does this mean that you can see on the x-ray where they broke my tibia? Or does it mean that something is abnormal-hence my pain? I continue to have a lot of pain in that tibial area. I have gotten pretty proficient with medical terminology unfortunately due to my knees but this phrase is not familiar. Thank you to anyone who has a guess at this! Guest guest
Not sure Margaret. Sounds like maybe the same thing is happening to your knee as when the screw was taken out. I really have no idea. Can you call the doctor's office? If you can't get the doc on the phone (which you should be able to do), maybe one of the nurses or someone else can explain the terminology.
