Guest guest
Margaret: I haven't had any scar problems myself, but my doctor has apparently had success treating scar problems by physically breaking-up the scar tissue with a needle. He has this Case History on his website. It sounds like one of those " too good to be true " stories, but my own story sounds like one of those too! ************************* HELEN McCAHILL, a 74-year old grandmother, developed a constant, occasionally sharp pain in her left knee, which limited her activity and quality-of-life. She initially saw a series of orthopedists who tried anti-inflammatory medications and steroid and procaine injections in the joint. She still suffered. Physical therapy with ultrasound provided no relief. On April 23, 1997, Helen was examined by Dr. Cohen. While she did show problems with her feet and knees, what was more striking was severely retracted and puckered skin at the site of the appendectomy she had when she was 14 years old. Immediately after Dr. Cohen injected her abdominal scars with Procaine, she reported full relief of her knee pain. Today, she is able to walk up and down stairs, even kneel in church-all without any difficulty. ************************* I don't know if you can find someone near you who does this sort of thing, but I figure it is worth a shot. It certainly beats surgery! HTH, Doug > I went to see a neuromuscular therapist today for the excessive scar > tissue built up in my knee from the last surgery a year ago.
