Guest guest
Are you taking any medications for the pain? Celebrex, Vioxx, Lodine? Lodine has worked the best for me, almong with a stronger pain med sometimes for night. I also had Synvisc injections over Christmas Holiday and I really think they are working. Pain is much less and am only taking my Lodine once a day instead of twice. May give it another month and try to stop taking the Lodine so I maybe don't end up with an ulcer by the time I am 30!
Talk to your doctor. They might not can do much for the cause of the pain, but they CAN TREAT the pain! Good luck!

Guest guest
I sympathize with you Mark, some days I just don't want to try anymore. I've tried all the pain medications and they just cause stomach problems on top of my knee problems.

The things that help me are:
Ice - 20 minutes a couple of times a day
McConnel taping - Have a PT show you how to do this
No running - I find these people goofy that keep on running when their legs are giving out, if I would have never ran I don't think I would be having these problems now. Walking and swimming are much better for you.
EMT machines - Use this to stimulate the muscles around the top of your knee.

Good luck to you, I'm going in for surgery Thursday, I'll let you know how it turns out.

Mare

Guest guest
Anne - you don't say why you have so much pain.
Please don't give up, just keep tring new things. I'm 8 months out of surgery and still battle what use to be normal things. Slowly my knee is improving. One thing I try to do is keep a jornal each day and find creative ways to do new things that sound fun and that I can do. I was very active and plan to still be if it takes a year, 2 years etc... Please try to find positive ways. Guest guest
Hiya Dianne,

Thank you so much for your post...and your offer to chat. I have been diagnosed with cp for 7 yrs..I also have cervical sponylosis..I have had an arthroscopy on my left leg (5 yrs ago) and a 'rinse out'..it felt easier at first but soon felt lousy again. I am in constant pain but with differing degrees of severity..sometimes the pain goes beyond tolerable and I get to the end of my tether..the drs appear to be 'ignorant' of what to do and I find it so hard to explain the agony I am in at times..I go again to the consultant on the 1st feb and I am determined that this time I will be given some hope...because quite simply I can no longer cope with the pain.

What was the op you had? how long have you had cp?

thanks again for your reply

take care

annex
