Guest guest
and others,

I want to briefly mention another non-PT, non-surgical approach to pain that has worked well indeed for my back (MRI: " severe degenerative disc disease " L5-S1 area). I am hoping for similar results with my level II CP.

My practioners (Santa Barbara) are a Mayo Clinic-trained rheumatologist and an orthopedic surgeon. There is no surgery, only injections of mostly dextroxe in ligaments to cause localized inflammation and rebuilding of the lax supporting ligaments/connective tissue. It worked for my back for sure.

Now with my knee becoming much worse, I am hoping for similar results now that they have a precise diagnosis of CP. Caution: The first 3 knee treatments (of a potential 8) did nothing--probably (I hope) because they thought they were dealing with ligament weakness. My knee may actually be worse. But the back success was so impressive I am hopeful I can avoid surgery despite lack of progress so far. Will see them again in a week.

What some of you may want to do is look at the Amazon.com reviews of " Prolo Your Pain Away " by Ross Hauser, a Chicago area practitioner and order and read the book if you are interested. It certainly claims to be able to address CP. It has a very impressive, glowing preface by former
Surgeon General C. Everett Koop. See web reviews:

<a href=http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/0966101006/ref=sc_b_5/105-8908583-55\ 75117 target=new>http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/0966101006/ref=sc_b_5/105-8908\ 583-5575117

If you want to start investigating practioners, those in your area can be located by accessing their association at the following site:

http://www.aaomed.org/

You will certainly find the book informative and provocative.

Tom
CA
Guest guest
Well, . I have to tell you, exercise isn't a good thing. Sports, bad no-no. I know it's stupid having to sit all day and not do anything, but that's what happens. And until your OS or doc says otherwise, don't go past PT exercises adn walking.

-
