if you have femoral anteversion or genu valgum or

big bow legs-external anteversion off both hips or

internal anteversion this is the time to make the surgery

to straight your legs and stop the patella tracking

problem
where are you from?
e-mail me

,
Hi, I'm , I'm 16, and welcome

to the runaround.. I've had knee problems since I

was 13, and have seen a total of 9 OSes.
I heard

that same " you'll grow out of it " line so many times I

thought I would throw up. I knew I was in serious pain,

the pain killers weren't touching it, my knee was

purple, and I was frusterated. I was in PT for a year,

and not seeing much help.
Finally, in May 00, I

found an OS who was willing to do a 'scope and a

chondroplasty and just see what the heck was going on. Not only

did he do the chondroplasty, he found an inflamed,

frayed medial plica that was not showing up on MRIs. He

removed that, and my knee is 90% better now.
My point

is.. Only take the " wait it out " B.S. for so long..

NO, my knee isn't 100% better, and no, I didn't

expect that. But faith and hope will only get you so

far. Sometimes you just have to go with your gut

instincts.

E-mail me if you want-- Dreamer1184@...

Or,

I can totally relate to what you are saying

... I have been suffering with my knee since i was 10

I belive, I'm 27 now. Just like you I have gone to

numerous doctors, they told me you will grow out of it ,

it's only growing pains, or thats nothing. So I left

it alone for years, but my knee kept hurting and

getting worse, to the point that it would lock without

notice and i would fall. so i decided to go to another

doc that sent me to a specialist, he too told me it

was nothing. I freaked on him, and demanded an MRI,

waited 6months for it and got the results CP. It is

frustrating that these doctors, could have done something

about it years ago b4 its too late, but they are too

busy to sit down with a patient and do a proper

diagnosis. Well I will let you all know how my surgery goes

in January, I'm hoping it wont take longer than a

week to heal, cus I have to go back to work.
Take

care gals!

kat

be free of pain as soon as possible!! my quistion

for u is wich surgery u need to make if its lateral

realese or patella realignment because if its lateral

too
thanks sigal

if they are going to make lateral release

too,
ask for another opinion because somtimes they

make
lateral release to correct patella tracking problem but

its not work in the most off the cases i know they

make afterword ttt surgery- patella realignment,

lateral realese made by athroscopy , ttt surgery made by

open surgery
tibial tibercule transfer its mach

better for patella tracking problem.
but first ask

your doctor if u do have patella tracking problem i

think u have!!! if u have
and your doctor want to

correct it by athroscopy
be sure your making the right

step (get another opinion of the sort of the

surgery)
good luck sigal!!!
my english is not so good

Ummm, Kat? The recovery for a mild surgery is 6-8

weeks. If you are having a major surgery like a think

you are it's going to take 3-6 months in recovery and

PT. Don't expect the surgery and recovery to be easy.

It's not.

-

wow !!!it takes that long to recover??? my doc

told me i could go back to work after a week. What i'm

having done is a scraping, what they call here in Canada

" day surgery " in and out of the hospital the same day.

Now will that take longer than 1 week to

recover?

kat
