Guest guest
I have noticed several posts lately referring to 'not liking crowds'. Is this because of your CMT? Are you afraid you will be pushed or knocked off balance? What are some positive ways you manage being in a crowd - like say at a sports event or at a theater? What are positive ways you reclaim your personal space/safety zone? ~ Gretchen

Guest guest
I'm with you . I am frightened of being pushed or nudged and happen to fall. I like my hubby close at hand also. If I fall, I can't get myself up. My ankles do not bend because of the surgeries. I look like a fish flapping out of the water. Linfa.... Fla. Guest guest
I, too, have always had trouble in crowds, or when I am in areas that require me to stand for long periods of time (i.e. shopping, etc). If I am standing for long periods in a big crowd or when I am shopping, I get real dizzy. I've found that if I sit down for a while, I am generally better. My friends and family are all pretty understanding. They are also really good at going at " my pace " and keeping an eye on me to make sure they don't leave me behind accidentally. All of my friends are real good and they realize if we are somewhere that involves alot of standing, I may need to grab onto them. They all expect it. I feel pretty lucky to have such great friends. On a related note, although somewhat different... I have always had trouble in confined areas that are hard to get out of. Like, for instance, once we went to Mammoth Cave and I got serious claustrophobia. I think this is related to a fear that if something should happen while we were in Mammoth Cave and we would need to leave quickly, i would be trapped. So that is mostly just my head, but it is related to CMT. lol I told one of my friends my fear, and he promised that if anything ever happened, he would make sure I got out safe... lol Just pick me up and run... haha Liz
