Hello!

Kefir has great probiotics, and chia seeds have fantastic properties too,

including fiber, omega 3, calcium, potassium, etc., and was used by the ancient

Aztecs and Mayans to clean infection out of eyes or open wounds. If I soak chia

seeds overnight in water (they absorb 9 times their weight in water) do you

think they would be a good addition to a morning smoothie, or do you think the

antibacterial properties of the chia would negate the health benefits of the

kefir?

Thank you for your time,

Lois

Hi Lois,

I like to sprinkle chia seeds on top my my kefir smoothie and eat them with a

spoon. I don't believe that chia seeds would destroy the beneficial properties

of kefir.

Chia seeds are excellent in a smoothy. I wouldn't worry about so-called

antibacterial properties.
