Guest guest
Oops - the 'new member' who didn't sign her name was probably me - I ALWAYS trim ( & have to laugh at the posts on how important following the guidelines are - that AREN'T trimmed) but have belonged to several groups that don't require the signing - so somehow overlooked that!! Sorry! I have been making kefir for over a month now - really enjoying it! The milk kefir grows well on coconut milk (I've rotated with goat milk a few times) & noticed that while coconut yogurt needs some kind of thickener added, the kefir gets nice & thick. I've also been experimenting with various herbs in the water kefir after I've strained the grains out - have others tried this? My favorites are the longevity Chai herbs suggested by Rosemary Gladstar in her family herbal. I've also used lemon ginger tea with some nettles & damiana. My 10 year old granddaughter asked to help me make kefir last week - fun, as she knew I was making it, but hadn't watched before! She especially enjoyed smelling the herbs as we added them to the cultured water. I drink more of the coconut milk kefir, but both are great.
