Guest guest
I've been drinking/eating kefir smoothies for lunch at work for months and months. I Vita mix fruit, flax grain and stevia--I can drink it only if it's flavored or sweet, and I wanted filling and nutritious. I can sip it while I work -- no mess, no mouthful of food when a customer arrives. When making a Vita mix green smoothie I realized I can put veggies in kefir too, right????? So, the next kefir smoothie was a cup of raw spinach leaves, a chunked up apple, 1/2 a carrot, flaxmeal, stevia & about 2 cups kefir. Bright green, sweet and delish. One veggie led to another and I tried...ready?.......Broccoli. I kid you not. A few florets of raw broccoli, 1/2 a carrot, a few pineapple chunks and/or a chunked apple, about 2 cups kefir, sweetener, and Vita mix away for a pretty green smoothie. For Halloween I blended a carrot, sweetener, an apple and/or some pineapple, flax, and Viola--a bright orange smoothie. I stress Vita-Mix blender because it has the power to pulverize raw veggies. If you have such a blender, go to the Vita-Mix site and you'll find a downloadable page for the green smoothie combinations.
