Since I would like to have 110 percent occupancy I would be willing to pay a transportation / re-homing fee or if you live close enough to me, I would be willing to make an exchange - scoby forgrains. .............................................................................. I started with kombucha in Oct., making it from scratch from bottled KT. The alcove off of the kitchen is now home to 7 very healthy scobys, that are slowly getting thicker, even with the cool temperature that the house is kept at. 1 quart jar, 1 half gallon jar, 4 gallon pickle type jars and 1 gallon sun tea type jar with spigot. I still have some empty jars and the scobys only need me if they need to be fed some more sweet tea, I have the time and interest to adopt some grains. I am also interested in a Ginger Beer Plant. If anyone has water kefir or milk kefir grains that they are looking for a new home to send the grains to, I would love to provide those grains with some lovely gallon jars and if those grains need special 'nursery items', I have already found a source. - Local liquor store has carboys, bail lid bottles, and two types of water locks - to name just a few items. LOL I have read and taken to heart the suggestions from those that have decorated their ceilings with the fruit of their labors, when they have uncapped a pressurized bottle that had enthusiastically reponded to their care by it's continued fermentation! Those grains will help me in the kitchen by doing some prep, dough raising work as I make Amish friendship bread. I also intend to keep them occupied helping me make other LAB fermented items, like kim chi and yeast breads.
