Guest guest
When I made my first batch of kefir, I mistakenly used 2 cups of milk instead of one. At the end of the 24 hour period I drank the kefir and it was great. The next time, I followed the recipe and used only 1 cup of milk. The following morning, I had my cup of kefir with breakfast and experienced heartburn. I blew it off, and made more kefir with one cup of milk. But the next day, the heartburn happened again! At first, I didn't make the connection with the kefir since I had drank it the first day successfully. But then I realized that I had actually used a different ratio that first time. My question is this: If I increase the amount of milk in relation to the grains, will I still get the health benefits of the kefir, or will it not have fermented properly? (P.S. I realize that as the grains grow I will need to use more milk, but my question is slightly different since I don't think they grew a massive amount after first time...) Thanks in advance for your responses, Purplesprout
