Chunks of curds in my kefir

Does anyone know what causes this? Will it harm me if I eat the

chunks. Should I strain them out or what can I do to keep them from

doing this.

Since we are snowed in and can't get to the store, I put my grains in

the freezer rather than loosing them. I will try to refresh them once

we get back to going to the store.

Also in a case of emergency or since we are snowed in, has anyone ever

tried to use powdered milk for the kefir? LOL Not that I would think

that it would be ok but just wondering? I am finding the readings very

interesting about refreshing the frozen grains. I just love this group!

To all of you Happy Holidays! I hope all of you are having a fun time

with your families. We had a heck of a time getting home tonight from

Portland OR. We live at 3000 feet and we have a foot of snow. My

Husband didn't put on the snow tires when we left because we didn't

have any snow and we did hear that it was going to snow a few inches,

maybe tomorrow night? Not today though. We spent all afternoon

shuttling from truck to car, and car to truck. Car to car to get

home. It was a Christmas to remember!!! Then when we got home we

thought that the electricity was cut off. The snow had covered all the

outside lights. I about lost it at that point but got in the house and

saw that being snowed in a house with power is not all that bad.

I also wanted to thank you all, not to mention names just in case you

don't want me to mention your names. Thank you to the gals that sent

me the grains. I have been taking care of them and I am about to have

a glass of water kefir. Kind of a night cap before bed.

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays. I hope you all have a Happy New

Year also. I have not posted lately because we have been so broke and

I had to make all my Christmas presents this year. Everyone loved the

slippers that I made. I put rice packs in them so they could pop them

in the microwave and keep their feet toasty. They were a hit! I made

a quilt for my Mother in Law. She loved it! I will be posting more

now that I am not sewing every min. of every day for 2 months solid!

Sorry if I have not emailed any of you that I have been meaning to

email. I will get back on track. I have some more sewing to do for

charity work, but I don't have a deadline for all that. I do have to

knit a sweater for my Niece for her B-day. Her birthday is the 31st

but her present is going to be late. I had to order some bobbins

online and I just got them on Chrismas Eve in the mail. I am doing

intarsia on a knitting machine. First time I have ever done this. It

very interesting but I did realize after I got started that I was going

to need some bobbins, I was strung up in a mess to say the least.

Well happy Holidays again,
