Guest guest
Hi everyone on the forum! I'm very keen to know what is the Kefir Starter Culture so often referred to on Net. Though I know it's a powder sold in Stores for culturing milk to make kefir and that one starter lot is used only for a limited number of cycles, what I actually want to know is what material it is. Is it produced from Milk Kefir or Milk Kefir Grains or from something else? Has the resulting kefir almost the same bacterial strains as the kefir made with real kefir grains? If poorer in microflora, is the fact established with any scientific study? Any reference to such a published work will be highly appreciated. If someone has used the Kefir Starter Culture, I wish to know what happens after completion of prescribed number of cycles – just no fermentation results or kefir of inferior consistency is produced or due to less microfloral content thereafter it's simply not advised to go beyond the prescribed limit? I'm sorry for raising so many questions, but if light is thrown on various aspects of the product not only that I shall be highly grateful other members too, I hope, will welcome the information.
