new kefir-maker question

Hi,

We recently got our first-ever kefir grains. The first tiny batch of kefir

tasted good to me,

mildly sour. Subsequent one, even with increasing the milk ratio, have been

completely

unpalatable to both me and the dog. I can't make myself drink it even after

adding honey

and diluting with more milk. (My husband likes it, though.) It has a very

strong bleu-cheese

taste and smell. It's so different from the health-food store kind, which

doesn't surprise me,

but much, much stronger than I expected. Is this right?

Any suggestions for how to get me and the dog to eat it?
