Hey-lo Marilyn and all,

I had some kefir grains sent from in Idaho to my daughter in

Kalamazoo, Michigan....My daughter promised that she would get them up

and perking in no time when she got them.....that was about a month

and a halk ago.....;-(.......

Am I surprised?....I guess not really....She's a college student doing

her dangdest working and taking classes, and of course enjoying

life....;-).....

She would like to get them going though......Are these " Lil' Kefir

Babies " ...(as I like to call them) still viable, or should I get other

ones for her?...

Thanks,

Hi Hank,

Your daughter has nothing to lose by putting them in a little milk to see

what happens. Tell her to change the milk once every day regardless of what

it looks like. It might be a bit nasty at first. You can tell if they are

dead if they do absolutely nothing to the milk in 24 hours. If there is the

least bit sourness or curd formation, you know they are alive. Just keep 'em

going and give us the report.
