My kefir grains generally float while the remainder at 24 hours will vary from

solid white with tiny cracks of yellow fluid here and there, to the separated

sections of grains, milk at top, clear then white again ... depending I believe

mostly on temp. and if I've run over the 24 hours. But it is all good.

So far as the length of the kefir colony, I would just watch in amazement as it

morphs as I've done with my own giant one. It is still growing although much

slower so far as length/width as it approached 7 " ... I still have " IT "

separated. I have frozen my remaining grains for a few months now as had to have

thumb surgery, (trigger thumb) a few days ago, and cataract surgery scheduled

for the 10th now, and foot reconstruction on the 23rd so I don't want to put any

more of my " kefir chores " on hubby or grandson than is necessary to maintain

" the giant one " , (I've just GOT to see how big it'll grow!) It is mostly growing

in thickness now rather than edges.

The postings from about a week ago comparing the various stages since Jan. 22nd

are at http://www.photobucket.com/Joyce-KefirMannaColony.

Also speaking of links the above is " ok " but I want to give a heads up I am

sending to my forums on another situation:

I am passing on a warning I was given that a post which had my name on it had

what is apparently a virus in a link within the post. I did not find the

message attributed to me, but did see it as another persons .. either way,

please be warned. His was titled " Good day " and the link had rapidshare.com and

wow9 and was an exe file within the link. I have added those phrases to my

message blockers for emails. I thought my virus maintenance was good, so if it

did pass my filters I am sorry.

So heads up ... Joyce Simmerman
