Hello!

My name is Dora ' Wilkerson. I am new to Kefir. I just got some

on Saturday. I would love to find some good easy recieps..

Today I am making some drinks (with strawberries..) I tryed it with

some chocolate this morning and boy it wasn't what I thought it would

be..So, off to the store for some sweet fruit to add to it (I really

think that might taste good!)

Well thanks for having me into your group. I have lots to learn and

hope to with your group.

I was having trouble getting my kids to drink kefir -- the thing that works

for me is a smoothie with about 1.25 cups kefir and two bananas. That may

seem like a lot of bananas for that much kefir, but it works for us -- the

kids wolf it down.

Hi Dora '

Yes, chocolate requires a LOT more sugar. One of my favorite drinks is

orange kefir. Fill a glass 3/4 full of the mildest kefir you have and add a

little thawed orange concentrate. Stir in.

And I made some really sour kefir cheese this week. By accident. I used two

drops of rennet but it didn't set up like I thought it should and I let it

go an extra day at room temperature. So now what to do with it...

I have dried fruit always soaking in the refrigerator so I used some of the

juice from soaked dried kiwi and blended in a tomato and a little onion

powder. It was quite good as a dip.

Welcome! My favorite kefir mix-in is local, raw, blackberry honey. It's

SO yummy..... I used kefir yesterday instead of yogurt to marinate

tandoori chicken.. it worked very well. Don't be afraid to experiment

and have fun. :)

That sounds wonderful! I am going to have to try that for sure.

Thank-you Marilyn for sharing that.

Did you just leave the chicken in it and then put it in the stove or

cook the kefir with it in the stove?

I have a feeling this is going to be neat.

Thanks,

I marinated it in the kefir/seasonings, then took the chicken out of it

and put it under the broiler. I also marinated tofu and broiled that..

both were really good. :)
