Guest guest
Alaire, For years, my laundry protocol was toso soak my clothes for at least 24 hrs. in Jumbo Hefty slide-lock bags, then I dried them HOT for 4 hrs. I cannot shortcut the heating time but by adding a cup of ammonia to my rinse. Some swear by fels naphtha. I just bought some myself. Can anyone share the most effective way to use it? I know it has been posted, too, but finding THE post here with the info we need can be challenging! > >Calm coat. I bet that has been discussed here, most everything has! I am going to try that for the extreme itching I am experiencing due to the my F-Lyme herx. Just got my Jeffers Equine catalog. So, see, Alaire, you have already helped me. Hopefully I can return the favor. Also, once I see what it does, I will post about it at morjella.com. Or you can :-) > >Hang in there...we are gonna beat this. Guest guest
Kayjay the best way to find post is search under email, or users name, in search bar directly above post. I will never use anything but fels naptha, kills mites, fungus, and posion ivy. I cut bar into chunks, grind in blender. If using powdered grind fine, if cooking the naptha the powder will not need to be so fine. I prefer the cooked since I wash with cold water. I would also use bluing with all laundry. BE SURE and follow instructions. The bluing is non toxic but will turn things blue of not used properly. If used properly you have a natural biocide and FIBERS restored. Including both naptha recipe and bluing instructions. Fels naptha. 1/2 cup ground naptha 6 cups water boil with naptha add 6 more cups cool water. Stir off and pn first 24 hrs to keep from turning to blob:) can be used right away, will not blob after bein stirred. http://www.soapsgonebuy.com/category_s/31.htm http://www.mrsstewart.com/ http://www.mrsstewart.com/pdf/animalingestion.pdf http://www.mrsstewart.com/pages/wheretofind.htm > > > >>It is perfectly okay to vent alaire. Guest guest
I am sorry for the suffering of the people here. I don't much about any of you, and I feel sad that many of you I would never have gotten to " begin " to know had it not been for these tragedies we are dealing with. But strength is found in numbers...so this must help keep us strong. I just wanted to throw in my two cents on laundry. As I mentioned in an earlier post, I have found a laundry additive on this cedar web site. It says you can use this (about 2 tbsps per large load) in your wash and the water does not need to be hot, there is no soaking needed and you dry as you would normally. I bought some and have washed some of my clothes using it. So far, no problems. I washed my clothes and packed them before taking off to a hotel for a few days. I had to finish my taxes in peace. And I have not had any problems with any of my clothing. In fact, some of clothes that I had washed using Borax and Ammonia on hot water, may have still retained some mites. But not positive. So, I will continue posting my results. It sure helps when you just have to throw in a couple of tablespoons of this cedar product and then wash your clothes on any temperature you like. Sigh....reminds me of the good ol days... Terry > > > > > >>It is perfectly okay to vent alaire. Who else would know intimately what you are going through. We do. We've been there.
